When Tarlov and her network were initially asked by Tony Bobulinski’s attorneys to apologize and offer a full retraction of the comment, both parties refused.

This is misleading at best, and a lie at worst.

When "initially asked by Tony Bobulinski's attorneys to apologize and offer a full retraction," Tarlov instead gave a weak "clarification" where she still said the law firm representing Bobulinski received payments from a Trump PAC, but that she saw no evidence that those monies were used to defend Bobulinski.

So she did respond to their request, she did not "refuse."

That said, Tarlov did not apologize for making the mistake. When asked a second time for a true apology on the next broadcast, she did not.

That's why Bobulinski's lawyers followed through on their threat to file a defamation lawsuit against Tarlov.
