You know, she could have had Bennett make a statement along the lines of, This matter was closed fifteen years ago when I signed off on an agreement to that effect, and I demand the press leave me, my family, and everyone involved alone. Case closed.
Instead, she had Bennett say, Leave me alone, but please, by all means, continue hounding Herman Cain.
And if you think the statement was Bennett’s, and that he was not speaking for her, then she damned well better fire Bennett and get another attorney to state as much.
That’s a stretch. So, she was supposed to say nothing happened just to make everybody happy? If it happened, it happened.
Let me see if I have this straight. One, two, three (or more) women complained about ‘something’ about Mr. Cain.
Mr. Cain wants to sue Politico for lying — they didn’t.
Mr. Cain blames Perry for leaking the story — he didn’t.
Mr. Cain blames his former staffer, Anderson, for leaking the story — he says he didn’t and there’s no evidence that he did.
Everyone blames the women.
The only innocent party in this whole affair is poor Mr. Cain, who, by the way, has been milking it for all it’s worth.
