They aren’t the only ones causing problems. Whether people here want to admit it or not, both groups are causing problems in their own ways.

Weve always had worthless rinos in the GOP. There have been a group of them through out history. Their instincts are not particularly helpful. They are at their core moderately conservative, nervous of confrontation & want to be accepted by the media & celebrities. In half of these people, they come by it honestly. They represent areas or demographics where clear majorities are ruled by moderation & a center or center right candidate is the only Republican candidate electable on our side.

In those cases, they aren’t going to vote for all of the things we support, but they do vote with us a majority of the time. They empower our majorities, support conservative appointments to the courts, cabinet & agencies the vast majority of the time & are generally decent people. If you are looking for (our style) right wing conservatives to be nominated in centrist, moderate areas- they will absolutely lose.

We have to convincee a majority of that electorate to become conservative first. That ought to be a goal for our side- do a better job convincing people we are right. If your basic belief is that every single elected Republican from every district has to be identically conservative, we will never have a majority. If your basic attitude is ‘I don’t want to work with anybody that isn’t a carbon copy of me’, then you will never succeed politically. All of those areas you lose because of stubbornness & write off for not being ideal will be won by Democrats who are willing to team up with moderate Democrats & Independents to achieve as many of their goals as possible.

The other group (that I fully understand anger towards) making up the other half of moderate or establishment types in the Gop- are all of the flimsy, centrist, career politician, elected officials from solid, conservative districts & states who don’t adequately represent their electorate (Mitt Romney in Utah, Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, etc.). Those are places ripe for primarying with real conservatives. That’s just dealing with the moderate, establishment group causing problems for Republicans.

The other group wreaking havoc with their own set of bad attitudes are many Trump, MAGA type populist conservatives. I consider myself part of this group- so I definitely feel more loyalty towards it. I think some of the instincts on running campaigns, getting good candidates & putting out a winning message are lacking in too many instances. People are coping with those losses by not learning from them, not becoming more savvy & becoming a bunch of defeatists. The one thing I’m incredibly tired of is the badmouthing, combativeness & lack of self-reflection. Every day I read something from a fellow Trump voter about boycotting voting for anyone but Trump. Most of the past conservative successes we have had have been brought about by happy warriors, who didn’t write others off- but instead charmed & eventually convinced others to adopt a conservative idea or policy or movement.

Trump was successful in the beginning because he convinced nonvoters, Independents & different communities to hear his ideas. He was blunt & honest- but he wasn’t a sourpuss or a killjoy. He made people laugh & was iconoclastic. I cannot watch many Trump loyalists destroying things with pissy, negative attitudes (& zero understanding of how to succeed politically)- any more than I can withstand a small, elitest group of establishmentarians sell out good Americans for campaign contributions & invites to the latest D.C. cocktail party. At present, you are both spending more time smacking at one another than the communists your supposed to be campaigning against. Grow up! Or lose the country, the Constitution & any freedoms we have left.

Neither group appears to have the wherewithal or stamina or, frankly, skill to lead successfully & triumph. Both groups have become redouts of defeatists & kamikaze. I hope Trump wins & I will vote straight red as always. I will also sign up every person I can. But after this election, win or lose, I think it’s critical to find a third option for conservatives- led by a new group who wants to lead, doesn’t expect defeat & doesn’t write off any voting demographic. If you aren’t going to contribute anything real, for God sakes- step aside! 🙄🫤🤔

What is it with so many if yall? It’s like willful ignorance. You better hope all those other Republicans win. Trump won’t be able to get anything done without majorities. And yes, I realize that some of those Republicans are not Trump loyalists, but even moderate or establishment Republicans can be negotiated with to get a sizable majority (80-90%/ not all, but most) of legislation & policy changes we are seeking.

If we don’t turn out & vote for conservatives & Republicans for all other offices- we screw President Trump. He’s said as much. He needs us to vote red. If we allow Democrats to win other offices because of intra-party feuds & resentment toward establishment types, we will accomplishing nothing. We will get end up getting 0% of our interests & the things we care about addressed. As a matter of fact, Democrats in control will be constantly pushing & succeeding in making things worse than they are already.

Like, I totally get the frustration that everybody our side feels towards many in the GOP. I also want to push the party as a whole in a more conservative populist unwoke direction. That’s going to take work & electoral success, better candidates in primaries & a vision bigger than electing one man in one election. We should be working toward that right now. The only people we should be fighting with right now are Democrats & leftists & the woke. Just ignore the never Trump GOPers! We need Trump & we need conservative/Republican majorities in Congress & in the states!😉

Yes, conservatism in the church (similar to political conservatism, but not the same) is more of an opposition to big changes in any direction- left or right (mostly left). It’s more a behavioral or personality disposition- continuity, steadiness, tradition with small changes over time, somewhat stoic & unemotional. I kind of think of it as an affinity for teaching tradition & also moderation in behavioral traits.

I think sometimes we conservatives (political & religious) forget that outside of our favoring traditional teachings & advocating beliefs supported by history & practice, there is another half to our philosophy that often gets overlooked. By nature, conservatives oppose rapid change & are skeptical of most “new” things that are introduced as they are unfamiliar, don’t have a track record, are unproven & aren’t based on decency. Conservatism is in a lot of ways an argument of moderation (not, of course, the bastardized modern variety of moderates we wrongfully associate with indecisive, overflexible establishment types in politics & church that are unmoored & unprincipled).

I guess in a church sense, I’d put myself in that category. I disagree with the sjw changes adopted by the church in the last 30+ years & the adoption of anti Biblical teaching. I also recognize that the membership, life experience & generational experiences will change over time. I absolutely support traditional, Biblical moral stances, but am not offended by different ways of reaching those that don’t come from a faith tradition 😉

  • Why Trump loyalists, VP contenders are flocking to ‘hush money’ trial: ‘It’s about paying homage’

Yes this! I’ll be happily voting Trump this November, but we have to be concerned about all the things you listed & winning offices across the country in order for the President to have a chance at changing things. It’s not all about Trump. Why can’t so many of our voters understand something so simple & verifiable?

If we were paying more attention to illegal immigration, voting laws & turning out for elections, we wouldn’t have an open border, refusal to enforce voting laws & nervousness about elections. For every voter saying they only care about Trump, what the heck is your plan after him? MAGA voter campaign strategy (or lack thereof) is getting close to being as bad as establishment Republicans were. Does anyone on our side know what they’re doing?

For every freaking idiot saying they’re quitting the Republican Party instead of changing it. What is your plan after that? Are you more worried about throwing tantrums or getting the most conservative person elected to offices? Have you thought about whether another party has a shot? Does that matter? Is a moderate conservative that votes with us 70% of the just as bad as a Democrat that votes with us 0% of the time? If you were being realistic about districts, etc. that are made up of majorities of centrist or non conservative voter, should we still run staunch conservatives in those areas (knowing that they’ll likely lose)? I’d love to know the thought process! Historically we thought ahead, tried to elect staunch conservatives (but were realistic about moderate or liberal areas) & always tried to work together to accomplish goals 🫤

Shockingly, Maine has Trump winning majorities of the state in most surveys. He used to win the 1 Congressional district, with Democrat winning other district and 2 points for the majority statewide. Trump is winning one congressional district and majority statewide. Those 2 extra points would put him at 270 electoral votes before even considering WI, MI or PA 😉

I’m a southerner from Alabama, living in Tennessee, with family Georgia & Mississippi & the Carolinas.its not a guess for me. Even with this kind of stuff, Biden has no shot of winning Georgia or North Carolina or Florida. No matter how much people fret over white, Suburban women, Trump iss now pulling even in that demographic (pre 2020). Something has really changed direction among Latinos in the south & southwest. Democrats before Trump were winning 60%; Trumps over 50% with them now. Biden can’t win any southern state with those kind of numbers, even with fraud. His best shot is Virginia- only due to leftist white government employees in North VA. I hope commenters here will not be a bunch of negative Nancy’s. They need to take care not to depress our voters (which they have in the last couple of election. The constant discussion of Democrats being sure winners due to election rigging has turned out to have the opposite effect you seek: it convinces enough on our side that there’s no point in voting. Elections have consequences- so do words! The negative mindset is counterproductive. How do we overcome fraud? Make sure that our voters turn out & are enthused on election day. The only thing the negativity out of anger & frustration produces is less of our own voters on election day convinced of failure. Stop! Fraud, corruption & elitism can be overcome 😉

Please God, let him be wise & do something off the beaten path for VP. As far as President Trump is concerned, conservatives (myself included) don’t need anything specific from him as a candidate. I think almost all of us trust him inherently. We, therefore, don’t need a VP candidate to prove anything to us. I think he should use this opportunity, in selecting a VP, to appeal to voters he hasn’t already convinced. He needs to mitigate losses in moderate suburban women, independent-minded types & disaffected blacks/minorities seeking a different path this year (as polls suggest). Tulsa Gabbard would do best, I believe, in these communities. We need to add voters. Anyone already voting Trump ilhas already been convinced. She smart, beautiful & very independent! 😉

How politically dense is this guy? He’s in a boatload of trouble with more than half of the party & basically all conservatives. Prolly not the best time to be all buddy buddy with lefties, wouldn’t you think. The political instincts of every wing of our party are just horrendously bad. Establishmentarians put kissing liberal butts & screwing your own voters above everything else which never produces on election day. MAGA folks are resoundingly kamikaziesque political novices who are obsessed with the chip on their shoulders & are more concerned with wobbly moderate Republicans than winning an election & defeating leftist wackos. Libertarians only seem to care about their ability get high. Traditionalists would be more accessible leading with a sense of humor. Free marketeers still won’t acknowledge that mass immigration & global trade have been brutally bad to all Ameicans whose livelihood isn’t propped up by cheap labor & lawlessness. Neocons shouldn’t even be a part of our coalition. I cannot believe how distracted, preoccupied & worried about the wrong things we are!

Can’t stand Coulter lately, but if “natural born citizen clownshow” means she thinks the only people that should be counted in censuses & apportioned political representation are citizens born to American parents or fully naturalized legal immigrants, I think you’ll find that’s what almost all conservatives believe. I think most of us believe English should be enforced as our official language, multiculturalism should be opposed, our borders should be patrolled like a branch of the military, border barriers must be erected & reinforced, illegals should be legally barred from working, voting, driving, housing & government services, legal immigration should be decreased considerably, legal immigration law should favor the anglosphere & be means tested & immigration law should favor American workers & only occur to benefit the citizens of this nation 🤔

I remember like 15 years ago when she had her good points & was mildly amusing. Lately, I don’t understand what she’s up to. I’d vote for Vivek over the Romneys & Bushs & McCains any day. I’m a realist in that I accept that all people are racist & inclined toward their own ancestry groups to some degree- I think that may be part of human nature. However, I don’t see the point in announcing those instincts if there’s no political upside in doing so. Basically, you are just writing your own terrible headlines & inviting hypocritical lefties to use your words as an example of how terrible the right is. Is it just me or has our side gotten monumentally less bright in the last few years? If the left were designing this trap themselves, they couldn’t do a more spectacular job & making us look like idiots! Is Ann on George Soros’s payroll now? 🙄

Uh huh... & reasoning like yours is where we fail miserably.! You get angry about what a group of individuals do, paint everybody with a broad brush, boycott an entire group, lose seats & elections & create the recipe for the defeat of the few people you support by convincing your own voters that elections are unwinnable. Then when a staunch voter from your side that wants every Democrat & squishy Republican replaced with conservative points out your ruinous & flawed strategy- your retort is a lame attempt at calling them establishment or deep state or some other b.s. thing you tell yourself 🙄

Very good question. There’s a court case seeking to railroad, imprison & violate every constitutional right of a good man by his political opposition. Yet, MTG chooses to concentrate her anger & efforts toward a member of her own party (with a one vote majority) because he approved pork barrel spending for Ukraine. I’m not happy with Ikraine funding either, but I’m not a big enough dumbass to see that as the biggest threat our republic is facing right now. There is obviously no help for some of yall. It sucks on some level to be attached electorally to a group of morons with such terrible political instincts. They don’t realize it yet, but they are actually the ones responsible for us losing the last couple of elections. As a group, the idiots advocating things like this have done zilch to reinforce election standards on the state level, haven’t chosen successful primary candidates to challenge establishment types, haven’t shown up on election days & haven’t invested much of their time or effort to do anything but flap their jaws 🙄
