The Vatican’s doctrine office will publish a new document next week on discerning Marian apparitions and other supernatural events.

The Holy See Press Office announced on Tuesday that Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, the prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF), will unveil new norms for discernment regarding “apparitions and other supernatural phenomena” on Friday, May 17.

In an interview with the National Catholic Register, CNA’s sister news partner, last month, Fernandez said that the document will provide “clear guidelines and norms” for discernment.

The new norms will be the first time that the Vatican’s doctrinal office has issued a general document on apparitions in four decades. Pope Paul VI approved norms on “the discernment of presumed apparitions or revelations” in 1978.

The “Mary” that shows up in a hallucination ain’t from God.
Why does she always have to “fix”, “correct”, or “interpret” what Jesus already clearly said?

2 Corinthians 11:14
And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

Galatians 1:8
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be under a curse!

That's not an answer. That's a deflection, otherwise known as a *red herring*.

Don't take me for a fool or mistake me for one of those inexperienced Catholics that hasn't been around the block for 30 years with both amateur and professional anti-Catholics. The main topic to be proved here is the unbiblical "Bible Alone" and you guys are the one that keeps changing the subject because you have no answer to it because it is a false teaching and you know it.

I knew a guy from Nicaragua who makes annual return trips home for a “mass” that a local priest offers for his deceased brother every year.

He’s going on over 20 I think now - 20 masses on the anniversary of his brothers death.

Seems like they believe they can pray their way into Heaven some how for others? Sure...

Hebrews 9:27 - 28
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

In this life, we are all on probation. You either allow Jesus to pay for your sins and be saved - or you pay for them yourself in hell.

That decision is hard for most people strangely.

Fidelis knows he can’t back up with Scripture multiple items the RC’s love to force their ignorant adherents to. This is why he brings up Red Herrings and distractions.

LOL! Thanks for the good laugh! It's those here that can't back up their core belief of the "Bible Alone" by Scripture and resort to diversion and red herrings!

As I keep saying, give me the clear, unambiguous Bible verse that teaches Sola Scriptura and I'll respond to all of your diversion topics. Heck, I might even become a Protestant! LOL!!

C’mon man! Why would anyone question the semi-Pelagianism of a Church that once condemned semi-Pelagianism as heresy? /s

If you want to believe lies, that’s on you.

Matthew 13:53-58 clearly states Jesus had 4 brothers and multiple sisters born of Joseph and Mary.

You can distort, deny, and deflect if you wish (or lie).

I’m glad you’re laughing.
God isn’t - in fact Jesus scolds you and your traditions heavily.

Mark 7:6-9
6 And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;

7 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”

9 And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!

Your ‘sacred tradition’ is an insult to The Lord since they are all un-Biblical.

The two passages you cite should give Roman Catholics a moments pause to re-evaluate their denomination's stance on the apparitions.

Jesus only forgave you of your sins up to this present time. You sin one more time and it’s back in the hell destination line for you.

My favorite verse for that is....

Colossians 2:13-14 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us allour trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

You did not answer the questions that were specifically asked.

You changed the subject and everyone can see that.

You already have had lots of answers.

And since you have already decided to reject them by DQ-ing them before they are given, leaves you with no openness to the Truth at all.

Your loss.

You can explain to God why you don’t think His word is good enough. It should be entertaining.

As Roman Catholics don't believe the clear teaching of the Bible, I'll give them one of their ECFs.

“We have learned from none others the plan of our salvation, than from those through whom the Gospel has come down to us, which they did at one time proclaim in public, and, at a later period, by the will of God, handed down to us in the Scriptures, to be the ground and pillar of our faith… Matthew also issued a written Gospel among the Hebrews in their own dialect, while Peter and Paul were preaching at Rome, and laying the foundations of the Church. After their departure, Mark, the disciple and interpreter of Peter, did also hand down to us in writing what had been preached by Peter. Luke also, the companion of Paul, recorded in a book the Gospel preached by him. Afterwards, John, the disciple of the Lord, who also had leaned upon His breast, did himself publish a Gospel during his residence at Ephesus in Asia.

Roman Catholics would be wise to emulate the Bereans matters of faith.

10The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Acts 17:10-11 NASB 95

All this diversion and sour grapes is getting tedious. How many times do I have to repeat myself without getting a factual answer? Call me all the names you want; I'm too old to get baited and led around the nose by emotional sectarians who don't have a basis for what they believe. Get back to me when you find your core belief of Sola Scriptura in the Bible. Then we can talk about all these other side topics. Have a blessed evening.

It sure doesn’t say that the Bereans rushed out to find Peter to ask his opinion of what Paul was teaching.

I pray they take a moment to search those out and compare them to what they are being taught, told, and trained in their religion.

Try reading it in context. It's addressed to Timothy, and speaks of "the Scriptures you have known since infancy". Well, that certainly didn't include the New Testament, or if it did, it only included a tiny bit of it. So is the Old Testament alone "sufficient"?

LOL...are you really trying to say the letter to Timothy has no application for us today???? Because if you're going to use that argument you pretty much negate a lot the Bible to a narrow time period.

However, he was instructed to study the Scriptures...which at this point were the OT.

But, if one continues to study the Bible in context we find Peter (you remember Peter don't you?) calling Paul's writings Scripture.

*****

14Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, 15and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, 16as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 2 Peter 3:14-16 NASB 95

Timothy was also an ordained bishop (see the reference to "what you have received from me through the laying-on of hands") _and_ had heard Apostolic preaching personally. So he wasn't just handed three-ring binder Bible with space left for the parts of the NT that hadn't been written yet and told, "Here it is -- this is all you need!"

And yet, he was told to appeal to the Scriptures...as we see in the OT and the NT.

It’s kind of breathtaking the chutzpah Catholics display by constantly telling God what what He did for us and what He provided for us is not good enough and that people need to add their religion (Catholicism) to it to improve upon it.
