Former President Donald Trump and President Biden are virtually dead even in the key battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, a new batch of polls found.
Trump, 77, narrowly edged out Biden, 81, in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin by a single percentage point, but lagged behind him slightly in Michigan by the same margin, CBS News/YouGov surveys found.
All figures were within the margin of error.

Overall, only 40% of voters believe that Biden “understands people like you” compared to 42% who said the same about Trump and 16% who said neither.
Voters also generally gave the economy under Trump higher marks than the current state of the economy.
In Michigan, 38% gave the current economy high marks compared to 62% who said the same about the economy under Trump. In Pennsylvania, 38% were positive about the current economy compared to 61% under Trump. And in Wisconsin, 42% were positive about the present conditions, compared to 62% under Trump, per the poll.
On abortion, 13% were enthusiastic about the overturn of Roe v. Wade, compared to 24% satisfied, 23% dissatisfied, and 40% angry.

The CBS News/YouGov poll sampled 1,287 votes in Michigan with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points, 1,306 in Pennsylvania with a MOE of 3.1 percentage points, and 1,245 in Wisconsin with a MOE of 3.2 percentage points.
The matchups in the new batch of CBS polling hews closely to the RealClear Politics aggregate which has Trump outpolling Biden by 1.9 percentage points in Wisconsin and 2.5 percentage points in Michigan — by training the current president by 0.1 percentage points in Pennsylvania.***

I’m in Mi and there is no way Traitor Joe actually is tied with Trump. The NYP is every bit as anti Trump as the NYT, so l’d say that is part of what they are pushing here.

Hard to know what's going on. The Muslims in Dearborn are not going to vote for "Genocide Joe". But you have female voters who will show up on Election Day just to vote pro-choice.
This election might turn on white urban/suburban women.
They are just setting the stage for the 100,000,000 magic “votes” Biden will receive.

I cannot understand how any poll could even be close. You have a man with severe dementia who can’t even walk without falling, makes major gaffes (and THIS is in charge of major policies and the nuclear codes???), and is hell-bent on destroying our country by facilitating its invasion by illegal criminal invaders, terrible foreign polices which could get us into war, interference with other countries’ elections, lawfare, and on and on. And you have a man who kept the peace for the 4 years he was in office, gave us a great economy, had our enemies at bay, and considered the needs of the average Joe. Of course, most of these polls are as phony as Nancy Pelosi’s Botox smile, but still...what kind of total moron would prefer Biden and his cast of criminals over Trump?

A FReeper pointed out that it's really the difference between white urban/suburban married women and white urban/suburban single women.
In 2020, married women voted for Trump. But with abortion on the ballot in several states, will they continue to vote for Trump in 2024?
He gives certain groups free stuff. If he gives me free stuff, I might vote for Joe too.
I checked the polls internals. They asked 1 question about immigration in each state, and asked 6 about abortion.
It’s a push poll. Abortion is a non issue. All minds are already made up. Asking 6 questions about immigration and reporting that in the main article would be more meaningful.
It is not reasonable that more than a tiny fraction of the American public support the criminal Biden.
