I’m afraid that simply banning birth-control abortion will not help to eliminate the practice.

Whole generations of young women have been conditioned to consider abortion as a routine form of birth control, much like the pill or IUDs.

What we need to do is work on educating them. The time to decide whether or not you want a child is before you get pregnant. Once you get pregnant, the child is a reality.

Nervous system development takes place between weeks 2 and 5 of pregnancy. This means that by week 5, if not before, the fetus is able to sense and respond to its environment. From week 5 on, the nervous system increases in size and refinement of function. Yes, that means the fetus feels what is done to it during abortion. Many young women justify abortion on the basis of abortion industry lies telling them the fetus either is not alive or is incapable of feeling. Educate them, and much of the support for abortion will evaporate.

You are correct, but the problem is bigger than that.

This is why we're going to be stuck with abortion for some time
