” So there’s an appropriate way to challenge things through the courts with evidence, if you lose, you accept the results, that has been the nation’s experience.””
All of the lawsuits were dismissed based on “standing”.
Furry Kangaroo legal shenanigans.
Even if I don’t agree with the way Trump handled things, this article reminded me that there are Democrats who still believe 2000 and 2004 were stolen and never recognized Bush as president. Even today those Democrat lawmakers insist it was stolen. By what is going on with Trump, those Dem lawmakers should be prosecuted also. Alito is correct. Weaponizing the judicial system wipes out our democracy.
I have to agree with Alito on this.
Alito is one of only two Supreme Court Justices I trust....
But he certainly knows that it is a Constitutional Representative Republic, not a Democracy.
Don’t use the language of the left, even for convenience’s sake.
There are more than 100,000 prosecutors in the us that have the power to prosecute a candidate. All it takes if 4 or 5 of them to pile on with a few dozen bogus charges and the candidate is done for. Trump is the exception only because he has a lot of dough. No one else would be able to fend off a cabal of prosecutors.
The SCOTUS has to block this or we have a country run by crooked lawyers.
The entire DemonRat Party should be investigated for sedition and contesting elections doesn’t even need to be brought into it.
Every last one of them has been striving to overturn our “democracy” in every way possible for many years now.
Wasnt a problem for democraps before 2020.
Alito is correct, but we must ask: WHY does this happen?
Because as America becomes increasingly centralized in Washington DC, with the massive budget and power of Fed.gov - increasingly more is at stake.
America’s founders created a miraculous Constitution, but we have so trampled and twisted it, it may soon be smashed to bits.
Why were French, Russian or Chinese revolutions so brutal?
Because they were highly centralized governments and cultures, run by kings, czars and emperors. In a political dispute, the winner takes all. People grasping for power must literally fight to the death.
We are moving towards the same
America needs RADICAL decentralization to survive.
