Those $5.25 sauce packets for fast food are hard to take. Feel like eating chicken nuggets straight and getting used to it.
(Kidding——I think.)

I have been watching Masterchef from different countries that are many years old. They bring on Expert Professional Chefs. I frequently search where they are now and what happened to their restaurant. Most end up being closed. Many before COVID.

One Judge from Masterchef Australia ended up in his own scandal for not paying employees properly. George Calombaris.

The business is so tough. Paying some ridiculous wage in California is not sustainable for fast food.

i wonder why mcdonald’s stock price has consistently go up in the past 10 years. $44 in 2007, and $265 now.

This $20 minimum wage fiasco is how the far-left, ass kissers make way for their illegal alien “street taco” trucks by making it too expensive to eat in an AMERICAN fast-food joints. The RATs just looking out for their voter bass illegal amigos who don’t have to pay anyone $20 bucks an hour. Californiacs just getting what they voted for. We’re not in America anymore, Toto. Gruesome Newsom is the Official Californiac Stick it to Americans Meathead.

I suspect that these are “introductory” price increases. I think they are insufficient to compensate for the forced wage increase and thus just the first stage. Bad PR to do it all at once.

California ‘liberal elites’ can afford it - and besides it keep the common people out of restaurants (unless they’re serving elite diners) so it’s a twofer for liberal elites.

The elites pay a little more but the wait for a good table is less with the middle class thrown to the street. We have Gavin to thank...

Nobody seriously thought menu prices wouldn’t increase vastly with this new minimum wage, right? How could these businesses run at a loss?

I grew up in the 1950s and did not have my first fast food hamburger until I was 14. We did not go out to eat unless we were traveling and then it was diners along the highway.

“Fast food” became a thing because it was cheap, fast and convenient. Today it is none of those things. They are pricing themselves out of business for the average family.

People will adjust (I am not able to predict how, but they will). The smart ones will go back to home cooking.

Just wait until we lose the White House, the house, and the Senate. Then you’ll see this happening nationwide. The Democrats will Institute immediately card check make it possible for every restaurant to be organized by a union. This will also affect every type of service business. This country is going to be lost in the great abyss if we can’t take our political system

A typical Chicken Burrito from a California Chipotle will now cost $10.25, while the average price of a Steak Burrito will set you back $12.

Pikers. It's already past that here, and there isn't a $20/hr min wage in HELLINOIS --- yet. I may eat out or stop at a "fast food" place once a month at this point. Cheaper and better quality of food cooking @ home.

And best part: not supporting some snot-noised a-hole who thinks flipping burgers is a career.

I ate at a Chipolte today here in FL and that's what it cost so I don't see the difference.

Business will shutdown, mass layoffs. Prices will skyrocket. You think rent and housing is expensive now then wait a few more years.

From June 1, 2026, to May 31, 2027, the minimum wage will increase to $22/hour, and, beginning June 1, 2027, the minimum wage shall be $25/hour.
