A man who was dragged by a bear following a car crash was most likely dead at the time, Massachusetts State Police said.

A preliminary investigation suggests that earlier that day, the driver, Daniel Ducharme, 31, of South Hadley, was traveling south on Route 91 when he lost control of the car, struck the guardrail multiple times, went down an embankment, and struck several trees in the woods. Despite the photo accompanying the story, as most people know, there are no Grizzly bears in Massachusetts. Get few miles outside of the major cities, and plenty of black bears, which are basically 300 pound racoons.
Partially ejected. Likely wasn’t wearing seat belt. Hope he didn’t regain consciousness while the bear was eating him.
They dance all around but don't touch the main question.
Leftist speak for "bear ate some of victim".
The biggest wild American black bear ever recorded was a male from New Brunswick, shot in November 1972, that weighed 409 kg (902 lb) after it had been dressed, meaning it weighed an estimated 500 kg (1,100 lb) in life and measured 2.41 m (7 ft 11 in) long..

I guess they’re still hungry after coming out of hibernation.
Bears will eat anything.

Rumor has it that there have been bear sightings within I’m guessing a half mile of our house. Someone reported on a community bulletin board that they had one on their back porch and gave the address.
Time to start carrying when outside.
It’s always time to carry outside, ma’am.

Where we are, human vermin are virtually non-existent.
But I’ve been coming to that conclusion when going into town. More illegals showing up even here in rural, out of the way NH.
Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you.

“ Where we are, human vermin are virtually non-existent.”
That may be true, but it’s irrelevant. They may be almost non-existent, but they’re not completely non-existent. House fires are extremely rare but I’m pretty sure you have a fire extinguisher handy.
Think of a gun in those terms.

At first scan I thought, "a skinny suit that actually works!"
anything thing this side of granite is food for bears.
Had the man killed the bear, all hell would have broken loose!
This time it’s us, Boo Boo.
