Germany wants its robots to be good Christians, take Sundays off from work

It seems that Germany is very serious about its robots following religious edicts and laws. As such, it has ordered all businesses and stores must stay shut on Sundays, and observe Sonntagsruhe or Sunday Rest, even if the entire shop is staffed by robots, or, the store itself is a robot.

Germany’s Tegut is known across Europe for its innovative approach to retail. It has a chain of automated stores that sells regular supplies like bread, milk, eggs and certain healthcare products.

The retail outlet finds itself entangled in a legal dispute regarding the German practice, or rather the law of Sonntagsruhe, which makes it mandatory for everyone, especially blue-collared workers, to take Sundays off, as reported by the Financial Times.

Four years ago, Tegut launched its fully automated stores, presenting them as a glimpse into the future of shopping. However, the Fulda-based retailer’s vision clashes with a legal principle deeply rooted in the German constitution: Sonntagsruhe Sunday Rest.

Despite Tegut’s argument that its small automated stores are akin to walk-in vending machines and should be exempt from Sunday shopping restrictions, the courts have ruled otherwise.

The recent ruling by the highest administrative court in Hesse mandates that even these automated stores must observe Sonntagsruhe, as mandated by German law.

Tegut’s automated stores, which look like oversized barrels with grass roofs, offer essential items such as milk, butter, fresh produce, and even personal health products. While staff visit the stores during the week for maintenance, Sundays typically require no employee interaction.

The legal suit was brought by Germany’s service sector union Verdi, which staunchly opposes Sunday shopping, citing the need for workers to have guaranteed time off for family and leisure.

I think all AI’s should have Biblical based value systems.

Sort of like Asimov’s 3 laws but expanded to include full knowledge of scripture.

I also wonder if AI’s prayed, if God would be offended or if He would bless them and those they prayed for.

Can’t they make Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu robots, so all times will be covered?

Sunday , the first day of the week, the venerable day of the Sun will continue to be exalted as we head into end times...it will unite all Christian Religions while those “who keep the commandments of God”..including the Sabbath, will be pushed down more and more. Revelation 14, the 3 Angels message to the world. The most ominous and frightening warning ever given to mankind........Come out of her my people..lest you share in her plagues.

God has a serious score to settle with her......and her deeds. And she’s a religious power. Satan isn’t so stupid to make Anti Christ something so obvioius as Damian or communism, or secularism.....Anti Christ is what the Protestant Reformers said she was..and the law of God is the issue in the end..it has always been the issue. His Sabbath is in fact...his seal. “Lord God Creator of heaven and earth.”

If you build one for every religion, the lamasery monks are going to use one to write the 9 billion names of God and then the universe will end.

For some reason this makes me think of Fritz Lang's 1927 film “Metropolis'' and "Maria'', the robot ''savoir''. Dude was ahead of his time.

That sucks. What are you supposed to do when you light up the grill, then realize you only have one pack of brats left?
