Junk Science: The oracle of climate disaster has a new book out on global warming that should be on the fiction list. He asks us to commit economic suicide while he rakes in millions from his green investments. 'Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis," Al Gore's sequel to his 2006 tome "An Inconvenient Truth," came out Tuesday. Printed on recycled paper using low-VOC (volatile organic compound) ink, it will undoubtedly be a best-seller and on the desk of every attendee at next month's climate change conference in Copenhagen. In a press release announcing the book, the Oscar-...

Ecology: The administration creates the mother of all protected habitats for a species whose numbers have increased since Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth." It's our hopes for energy independence that are drowning. When filmmaker Phelim McAleer, whose documentary "Not Evil Just Wrong" takes apart the myths of global warming, got to ask Gore a question at the annual conference of the Society of Environmental Journalists, McAleer brought up the nine critical errors in Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth." A British court two years ago listed them and said they must be righted before the film could be shown in schools...

Environmentalism: As polls show belief in global warming is dropping, a new study suggests that dogs and cats, like people, are a plague upon the earth. They say people should have edible pets. Here, kitty, kitty. A new Pew Research Center study conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 4 says the number of Americans who think there's solid evidence the average temperature on earth has been getting warmer over the past few decades has plummeted from 71% in April 2008 to 57% today. Over the same period, there's been a comparable decline in the proportion of Americans who say global temperatures are rising...

The latest global averaged satellite temperature data for June 2009 reveals yet another drop in the Earth's temperature. This latest drop in global temperatures means despite his dire warnings, the Earth has cooled .74°F since former Vice President Al Gore released "An Inconvenient Truth" in 2006. According to the latest global satellite data courtesy of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and made into an easy to read graph by algorelied.com: "For the record, this month's Al Gore / 'An Inconvenient Truth' Index indicates that global temperatures have plunged approximately .74°F (.39°C) since Gore's film was released," noted algorelied.com. Climate Change: Channeling King Canute, G-8 leaders agree to wreck the world's economy, and ours, by pledging to prevent temperatures from rising more than 4 degrees by 2050. What if the Earth has other plans?Canute was the legendary king whose sycophantic followers praised his power and wisdom. He was The One of his time. He once stood on the shore and commanded the waves to halt. As the story goes, he was exercising his ego when in fact he was giving his followers a dose of reality — the power of man over nature is finite and inconsequential. We were...

My grandson is in a local high school. Today he texted his father informing him that the school is showing Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth. A lot of parents are upset. We need to demand NOT that they stop showing it but that they present both sides of the Global warming controversy. The Liberals want the Fairness Doctrine revived let's give them a taste of it. Schools should be teaching students 'how to think' not 'what to think'. Can anyone inform me of a film which is available to contradict this? I will be grateful for your assistance.

Angry survivors blame council 'green' policy Andrea Petrie, Arthurs Creek February 11, 2009 Page 1 of 2 | Single Page View ANGRY residents last night accused local authorities of contributing to the bushfire toll by failing to let residents chop down trees and clear up bushland that posed a fire risk. During question time at a packed community meeting in Arthurs Creek on Melbourne's northern fringe, Warwick Spooner — whose mother Marilyn and brother Damien perished along with their home in the Strathewen blaze — criticised the Nillumbik council for the limitations it placed on residents wanting the council's help...

In 1995, Oliver Stone made the movie “Nixon.” It bombed, bringing in under $14,000,000. In 2008, Ron Howard added another name, made a new movie called “Nixon/Frost.” It also bombed, bringing in just under $15,000,000. Apparently, Hollywood has decided to bring America another Nixon movie every 13 years. Whether we want them or not. Critics say “Nixon/Frost” is filled with lies, distortions, exaggerations and what are euphemistically called “dramatizations.” For more information read the excellent Lies, Damn Lies and Dramatizations: ‘Frost/Nixon’ at BigHollywood.com. “But the film’s about Nixon,” say Hollywood insiders, “so it’s ok if we say the most vile...

Al Gore has a new argument for why carbon dioxide is the global warming boogeyman -- and it’s simply out of this world.Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday with yet another one of his infamous slide shows, Gore observed that the carbon dioxide (CO2) in Venus’ atmosphere supercharges the second-planet-from-the-sun’s greenhouse effect, resulting in surface temperatures of about 870 degrees Fahrenheit. Gore added that it’s not Venus’ proximity to the Sun that makes the planet much warmer than the Earth, because Mercury, which is even closer to the Sun, is cooler than Venus. Based on this rationale,...

NICOLA Roxon has been embarrassed by the revelation that two men she appointed as health ambassadors put their names to a publication saying homosexuality is a mental disorder and gay people are more likely to take drugs and molest children. The Health Minister, who is under pressure to dump them, said last night she found the document "unacceptable and repugnant". "My office is currently in discussions with both men to determine what role they played, and whether the views expressed are their own," Ms Roxon said. "I regard this as a serious matter and will consider closely the responses I...

Al Gore does Oprah - was anybody watching?29 11 2008 A guest post by: Russ Steele from NCWatchWe can only hope the most people in the US are shopping on Black Friday and not watching the Oprah Winfrey Show today. Al Gore has brought his global warming propaganda machine to share with Oprah. You can find the details on Oprah’s web page. Here are some of the topics that Gore is pushing:Classic Gore:“Some of the leading scientists are now saying we may have as little as 10 years before we cross a kind of point-of-no-return, beyond which it’s much more difficult...

Abstract: President-elect Barack Obama said attacking global climate change is a "matter of urgency" that will create jobs as he got advice from Al Gore, who won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work on the issue. Obama made clear he would adopt an aggressive approach to global warming when he takes over the White House on January 20. He and Vice President-elect Joe Biden met for nearly two hours with Gore at Obama's presidential transition office in Chicago. Obama hopes addressing climate change can create the kind of jobs that will help pull the U.S. economy out of a...

Son's astronomy teacher is showing Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, preaching the GW gospel, and having the students do "what can I do to stop GW" assignments. Am looking for three or four solid, data rich, polemically mild, resources to use with school officials should it get to the point where I actually have to make the case that GW/CC is not solid, consensus science. I want something that: 1) steps through An Incovenient Truth movie and book, point by point 2) refutes AIT move and book, point by point 3) steps through the GW claims, particularly: a) climate change...

They should call it, Madame Butterfly Ballot: First it was the film and the book. Now the next stop for Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” is opera. La Scala officials say the Italian composer Giorgio Battistelli has been commissioned to produce an opera on the international multiformat hit for the 2011 season at the Milan opera house. The composer is currently artistic director of the Arena in Verona. Other suggested titles: The Liar of Seville; La BoPrivate Jet.

I am the proud father of a 15 year old daughter, who very effectively challenged her "science" teacher today. They finshed watching the Al Gore movie and were asked to state 5 facts about the move and write a thesis about global warming. She politely challenged the teacher about how can they write a thesis without knowing about the other side. So, this is were you all come in - I know there is a counter punch movie out there that states that global warming is a natural cycle. Someone please let me know, so she can take it to...

Record-setting cold weather has killed more than 8,000 cattle and 100,000 hectares of paddy rice in northern Vietnam since mid-January, officials said Tuesday. Most of the cattle have died in northern mountainous provinces, where temperatures during the month-long cold spell have sometimes dropped to below zero Celsius, a rarity in Vietnam. "We fear that the number of cattle killed by coldness and shortage of food in northern provinces will keep rising in the coming days," ... The cold spell, which the National Hydrometeorology Forecast Center says is the longest ever in Vietnam, has also killed up to 100,000 hectares of...

The cover of the Aug.13, 2007, issue of Newsweek sports a very active sun with the title "Global Warming is a Hoax." But the cover story is not about how the man-caused global warming hysteria is a hoax. Oh, no, it is just the opposite. It is a diatribe about how those who are skeptical about man's influence on climate are denying the truth and are undermining true science.

Killer dolphins baffle marine experts By Nigel Blundell Last Updated: 12:01pm GMT 25/01/2008 It's hard to visualise but the intelligent and ever-friendly dolphin can also be a determined killer. New evidence has been compiled by marine scientists that prove the normally placid dolphin is capable of brutal attacks both on innocent fellow marine mammals and, more disturbingly, on its own kind. Film taken of gangs of dolphins repeatedly ramming baby porpoises, tossing them in the air and pursuing them to the death has solved a long-term mystery of what causes the death of so many of these harmless mammals -...

Previous Record Dates Back To 1894. It certainly made for quite the winter wonderland on this Christmas Day, and provided quite the surprise to residents. “I think we expected a few flurries and there's probably eight or nine inches now. It's just like Norman Rockwell," . Denver officially recorded 7.8 inches of snow on Christmas Day. The storm dropped the most snowfall in Denver on Christmas Day in more than 100 years. The previous all-time record for snowfall on Dec. 25 in Denver was 6.2 inches, recorded in handwritten records in 1894. Meteorologists say the latest storm boosted Denver's December...

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - Today's snowstorm made this month the snowiest December in New Hampshire in more than a century. The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, said Concord, where New Hampshire records are kept, beat the previous record of 43 inches of snow in December by an inch and a half. That record was set in 1876. Overall, the storm left 10.1 inches in Concord, and more in other parts of the state.

Just sitting down to lunch a few minutes ago, channel surfing, and CSPN2 had an Al Gore Booksining repeat from June 2006. The segment opens with a bookstore employee giving out line placement numbers and oh my, the wide eyed sheeple were in a kind of worship mode. Then, in walked His Warmness, I think I heard a halleujah in the background. Then the signing process began. These vacant eyed sheeple, with stacks of his propganda filed through, each offering platitudes to the Goreacle. My point, you may ask? Has anyone on FR ever read this book, An Inconvenient Truth,...

Earth Shoe Academies by: Malcolm A. Kline, October 30, 2007 Academics like to cultivate an image of themselves as cutting edge. Actually, while they may be more up-to-date than flat-earth theories, they are frequently not quite as far ahead of the curve as earth shoes. “The issue of climate change has entered its rock concert/college curriculum phase, which is a sure indicator that the issue has peaked and will begin a long, slow fade in the public mind,” author Steven F. Hayward writes in a column that appeared in the October Carolina Journal. “Simultaneous ‘Live Earth’ rock concerts were staged...

A COUPLE of days before Al Gore was awarded his Nobel Peace prize, Michael Burton, an English High Court judge and apparently a fine film critic, ruled that Al's Oscar-winner An Inconvenient Truth was prone to "alarmism and exaggeration" and identified nine major factual errors. For example, the former vice-president predicts a rise in sea levels of 6m "in the near future". "The Armageddon scenario he predicts," declared Burton, "is not in line with the scientific consensus." I'll say. The so-called scientific consensus of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change suggests rising sea levels across the next century of somewhere...

They just don't make Nobel Prizes the way they used to. That's the feeling we get after hearing that Al Gore was named co-winner of the Nobel Peace Prize yesterday for his global warming alarmism. The other co-winner was the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations group of scientists. It was easy enough to understand how Hollywood awarded Gore an Oscar for his climate movie ''An Inconvenient Truth.'' The Academy Award judges live in the land of make-believe. But the Nobel is a serious prize and its judges are supposed to do better work than the movie crowd....

Al Gore now has a Nobel Peace Prize to pair with his Academy Award for "An Inconvenient Truth." But neither accolade makes him any less a liar. As it did when it gave the prize to Jimmy Carter in 2002, the Norwegian Nobel Committee honored Mr. Gore and the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change to make a left-wing political statement. Though it did not mention "An Inconvenient Truth" by name, the committee spoke glowingly of Mr. Gore's political activity, lectures, films and books for reducing the "danger of violent conflicts and wars." The film details Mr. Gore's arguments on...

Watching Al Gore's movie about global warming is now part of the job at City Hall. The city of Albuquerque this week began sending its blue-collar and clerical workers to a morning-long seminar on energy efficiency. The seminar includes watching about 50 minutes of "An Inconvenient Truth," which won an Academy Award. "At the end of the day, you save money" by conserving energy, Mayor Martin Chávez told reporters Friday. "We want all our employees to understand energy efficiency." The seminars have faced criticism from those who say it interferes with regular city work. "I think it's probably a waste...

Ignoring the Academy Award won by the film, as well as rumors that former U.S. vice-president Al Gore is in line for a Nobel Peace Prize, a United Kingdom High Court judge said Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” was “assembled by a cretin of minimal understanding and even less sense.” The movie has been distributed to more than 3500 schools for children aged 11 to 14 as part of their “Climate Change” curriculum. The case reached the court when truck driver and father of two, Stewart Dimmock brought action to ban the film from UK schools. The court’s ruling substantially agreed...

Seriously Inconvenient Truth: Producers of Gore’s Film Asked to Return Oscars By Noel Sheppard | October 11, 2007 - 22:46 ET As media in America fall all over themselves with glee at the thought of the Global Warmingist-in-Chief winning a Nobel Peace Prize, Wednesday's findings by a British judge that Al Gore's film "An Inconvenient Truth" contained nine material falsehoods has prompted a request to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to strip the movie's producers of the Oscars they received in February for "Best Documentary." How delicious. As reported by The West Australian Friday: A conservative...

LONDON - Some of the assertions in Al Gore's Oscar-winning environmental documentary are not supported by scientific evidence, a British judge said in ruling on a challenge from a school official who did not want the film shown to students. The ruling was published Wednesday and it detailed High Court Judge Michael Burton's decision this month to allow film showings to go ahead in English secondary schools. But the judge said that written guidance to teachers designed to ensure Gore's views are not presented uncritically must accompany the showings. Burton said he had no doubt the points raised in "An...

A controversial documentary on climate change which has been sent to thousands of schools has been criticised by a High Court judge for being 'alarmist' and 'exaggerated'. Mr Justice Burton said former US vice-president Al Gore's film, An Inconvenient Truth, was 'one-sided' and would breach education rules unless accompanied by a warning. Despite winning lavish praise from the environmental lobby and an Oscar from the film industry, Mr Gore's documentary was found to contain 'nine scientific errors' by the judge. These inconvenient untruths included the claim that the snows on Mount Kilimanjaro were disapearing and solely due to the global...

judge on Wednesday ruled that Al Gore's award winning climate change documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" should only be shown in schools with guidance notes to prevent political indoctrination. High Court judge Michael Burton's decision follows legal action brought by a father of two last month claiming the former US vice-president's film contained "serious scientific inaccuracies, political propaganda and sentimental mush". Judge Burton said the Oscar-winning film should be accompanied by government guidance notes and to distribute it without them would breach education laws prohibiting the promotion of unbalanced political viewpoints. But the victory was only partial, as Dimmock failed to...

CNN Meteorologist Rob Marciano clapped his hands and exclaimed, “Finally,” in response to a report that a British judge might ban the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" from UK schools because, according to “American Morning,” “it is politically biased and contains scientific inaccuracies.” "There are definitely some inaccuracies,” Marciano added. “The biggest thing I have a problem with is this implication that Katrina was caused by global warming.”

A High Court judge who ruled on whether climate change film, An Inconvenient Truth, could be shown in schools said it contains "nine scientific errors". Mr Justice Burton said the government could still send Al Gore's film to schools - if accompanied by guidance giving the other side of the argument. A Kent school governor wanted the film banned from secondary schools. The judge said nine statements in the film were not supported by current mainstream scientific consensus. The Oscar-winning film was made by former US Vice-President Al Gore. In his final verdict, the judge said the film could be...

After a three day trial, British High Court judge Mr. Justice Michael Burton has found nine serious factual errors in Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, a film which the judge describes as attempting to support Gore's thesis on global warming through "alarmism and exaggeration." By far the largest and most troubling of the nine "errors" is Gore's false claim of a match—an exact fit, according to Gore—in the rise of carbon dioxide against an increase in global temperatures. *** And so the judge ruled that if the film is going to be distributed to public schools it would need an...

... * The film claims that melting snows on Mount Kilimanjaro evidence global warming. The Government's expert was forced to concede that this is not correct. * The film suggests that evidence from ice cores proves that rising CO2 causes temperature increases over 650,000 years. The Court found that the film was misleading: over that period the rises in CO2 lagged behind the temperature rises by 800-2000 years. * The film uses emotive images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests that this has been caused by global warming. The Government's expert had to accept that it was "not possible" to attribute...

Al Gore says he's impressed with the environmental initiatives being promised by B.C.’s government. The former U.S. vice-president told a Vancouver audience Saturday night Premier Gordon Campbell is to be praised for his promise last week of legislation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and his pledge to adopt California's tough tailpipe emission standards for vehicles. Gore made the comments during a slide presentation based on his Academy Award-winning movie An Inconvenient Truth. For all the money spent, nobody can say if the offsets have done much to alleviate global warming.... Without government regulation and mandatory caps on emissions, all that is left to drive offset sales is guilt and marketing. Offset companies charge what the market will bear. "How much are you willing to spend to feel good or to impress your neighbors?" asked Marland, of Oak Ridge National Laboratory. For Katy Hansen, a 29-year-old law school student, the answer was $429.99. She wanted to offset the travel of the guests to her May wedding in Madison, Wis., and paid San Francisco-based...

Though Austin Chronicle writer Robert Bryce is likely not a household name, his column published in Thursday's Energy Tribune is a must-read for all anthropogenic global warming skeptics. In "Al Gore's Zero Emissions Makes Zero Sense," Bryce not only skewered the Global Warmingist in Chief's schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth," but he also deliciously mocked all the sycophant devotees of the former vice president that have failed to recognize the obvious as they tour the country professing imminent planetary doom at the hands of a naturally occurring gas that happens to be a necessity to all forms of life. With that...

We in the news business often enlist in moral crusades. Global warming is among the latest. Unfortunately, self-righteous indignation can undermine good journalism. Last week's NEWSWEEK cover story on global warming is a sobering reminder. It's an object lesson of how viewing the world as "good guys vs. bad guys" can lead to a vast oversimplification of a messy story. Global warming has clearly occurred; the hard question is what to do about it. If you missed NEWSWEEK's story, here's the gist. A "well-coordinated, well-funded campaign by contrarian scientists, free-market think tanks and industry has created a paralyzing fog of...

Canada's premiers and territorial leaders held their annual meeting in Moncton this week. The main agenda item was global warming. And so it was that on Thursday, the leaders paraded to the microphone and pronounced themselves committed to a greener world. But instead of offering practical plans, they served up hypocritical rhetoric designed for voters back home. The worst offenders were Ontario's Dalton McGuinty and B.C.'s Gordon Campbell. Throughout the summit, Mr. Mc-Guinty did his best to paint Alberta as Canada's climate bogeyman. While never identifying the province by name, the Ontario Premier repeatedly stated that the biggest emitters of...

More Al Gore Hypocrisy: ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ Wasn’t Carbon Neutral By Noel Sheppard | July 23, 2007 - 13:43 ET At some point in time, it seems logical that the name of the Democrat Party must be changed to the Do As I Say, Not As I Do Party. In another fine example of such hypocrisy, it appears that despite claims by Al Gore that all of the CO2 emitted into the air as a result of the production of his schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth" were offset with carbon credits, nothing can be further from the truth. As Steve Milloy reported...

In his latest missive, "Moving Beyond Kyoto," in the Sunday New York Times, Al Gore promoted his coming Live Earth concert with an assault on reason: Mankind's carbon-dioxide emissions "have literally changed the heat balance between Earth and the Sun." In his universe, the earth (mean surface temperature, 59 F) warms the sun (9,953 F). But it's nice to see Mr. Gore acknowledge the research of geologists and solar scientists into the sun's role in heating the planet. Many of these experts have concluded that instead of tilting at warming windmills, mankind should prepare for the next Big Chill. R....
